Decorating your home for Christmas months before the holiday can make you a happier person, decking the halls early is a spirit-booster because it tends to trigger pleasant childhood memories.

When you’re putting up decorations, you’re thinking of happier times, times with family and friends, and family traditions you engaged in. Here is some Christmas Decorating essential checklist:

1. Christmas Tree

The Christmas tree is hands down the most important element in holiday decoration. When selecting the Christmas tree, the first thing you need to decide is whether you want to go for a real Christmas tree or a fake or artificial one.

Real Christmas trees exude the traditional feel and leave the house smelling of pine. But if you want to avoid the mess, we’d suggest you go for a fake or artificial Christmas tree. You’ll get them in a plethora of colors, sizes, and prices.

2. Ornaments

If Christmas tree is the most crucial element of holiday decoration, ornaments are the essential element of Christmas tree decoration. It would be best if you chose ornaments, whether plastic or glass, depending on your color scheme and decoration style. If you have some time in hand, you can even consider making homemade ornaments.

3. Garland

 Garland can be used to wrap around your Christmas tree or railing. You can also use garland, either handmade or readymade, to decorate your mantelpiece. Furthermore, garlands can be used for dressing up the doors and windows.

4. Christmas Tree stand

  When you’re setting up your Christmas tree, don’t forget to select a stable and beautiful Christmas tree stand.

  5. String lights

 If your artificial Christmas tree is not prelit, you can make it glow by using string lights. A minimum of 100 lights will be required for every foot of the tree.

6. Ribbons

This versatile decorative item adds life to everything incorporated by adding pops of color. You can use ribbons for decorating the Christmas tree and banisters or hiding the damage on the backside of the chair.
